A TECHNIQUE FOR CALCULATION OF TRANSMISSION GAIN OF RADIATION FROM THE CORE OF A BENDED ONE-MODE FIBER-OPTIC CHANNEL TO A RECEIVING FIBER OPTICS

VANT. Ser.: Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc 2017. Вып.1. С. 76-86.

The paper presents a technique for the calculation of the transmission gain of radiation from the core of a bended one-mode optical fiber to a receiving optical fiber. The technique allows accounting the Gaussian beams interaction efficiency (overlap integrals), radiation transmission by all fiber-optic components, and radiation losses depending on the bend length. The developed technique was used to calculate the transmission gain depending on the bend angle and the extraction coefficient for the SMF-28 type optical fiber. The calculated results are compared with experimental data.

Keywords: bended one-mode optical fiber, Gaussian beams, radius of mode spot, gain of radiation transmission through a lateral surface.
