THE PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES OF THE INTERACTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM (MODIS)

      The concepts and capabilities of the MODIS system running on the BESM-6 computer under DIAPAK OS are described.
      MODIS is a system designed to accumulate, store, process, and to output documentary and factographic data both in interactive and batch modes, allowing to implement an information retrieval system which would be referred to as a data reference system and/or a selective information distribution system, depending on its data handling method (operation mode).
