VANT. Ser.: Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc 2002. Вып.2. С. 3-9.

The evolution of initial random perturbations of density in gravitational field at a plane interface of two incompressible fluids (gases) resulting in turbulent mixing is studied using 3D hydrodynamic TREK code. Computational data with the density ratio are compared to known experimental ones.

STUDYING TURBULENCE CHARACTERISTICS BY DIRECT 3D NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF GRAVITATION MIXING

VANT. Ser.: Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc 2002. Вып.2. С. 18-29.

Turbulence evolution at a plane interface of two incompressible fluids (gases) with different density, moving with constant acceleration, has been studied numerically using 3D hydrodynamic TREK-MP code. Computational data are compared to other similar results as well as to the predictions by phenomenological turbulence model and known data of experiments. Computations were performed on a multiprocessor complex.
