CORRECTION OF OVERLAPS IN SURFACE TRIANGULAR MESHES IN THE LOGOS SOFTWARE PACKAGE PREPROCESSOR DURING PREPARATION OF AERO- AND HYDRODYNAMICS PROBLEMS

The paper describes an algorithm of correcting overlaps in surface triangular meshes of different types. The algorithm is used in the computational model preparation chain in the "Logos" software package preprocessor, when solving problems in aerodynamics and hydrodynamics. In contrast to the most part of existing approaches oriented to a certain type of the original mesh and using the global reconstruction of the mesh to correct it, the proposed algorithm has no limitations on the input data and changes the mesh in local regions only, where overlaps have been detected.
The algorithm includes two stages: first, the detected overlaps are corrected using local operations with elements of the mesh (triangular cells and their vertices) and then, if non-corrected overlaps are present, the region of triangular cells is removed, the hole is filled out with new triangles, and the new mesh region optimization is performed to improve the mesh quality.
