A disc operation system (DOS SP) is developed for a connected processor based on the M400 minicomputer. The main concepts used in the OS are described. The OS multitask operation requirements are examined. The connected processor data flow control is studied. Two job classes (C-and T-jobs) are justified which take into account the M400 features when operating as a connected processor. The DOS SP allows a data transfer between the BESM-6 computer system and remote terminal computers (such as SM-4). The connected processor access to the multicomputer shared disc storage permits to achieve a high system throughput by exploiting this communication link in an efficient manner. In addition, the paper describes a simple BESM-6 /connected processor communication protocol.
