ON INTERACTION OF COMPRESSION-AND-DEPRESSION-TYPE WAVES IN SPATIAL CASE

E. N. Zubov
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 2. P. 3-15.

Exact analytical solution is obtained for 3D non-stationary problem of motion of homogeneous initially immovable polytropic gas inside an infinite three-edged angle restricted by three planes, when one of them is promptly removed at t = 0, another plane begins to move into the gas according to some law, and the third plane is immovable rigid wall.

V .M. Vyalukhin, A. M. Lyakishev, A. V. Pastukhov, S. A. Stepanenko, A. A. Kholostov
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 1. P. 16-19.

Ways of implementation of a high-performance input/output subsystem for MP-3 multiprocessor are described. The MP-3 structure description is given, the way of MP-3 combining with a host-computer to create a multicomputer is analyzed and requirements to the input/output subsystem features to satisfy problems to be solved are formulated. Different options о the input/output subsystem features to satisfy problems to be solved are formulated. Different options of the input/output subsystem organization a.re considered. The analysis of several options and selection of the most optimal of them are performed basing on MP-3 specifications. The element base choice is substantiated to implement this selected option. Information concerning this subsystem analogs and their performances is given.

VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 1. P. 20-24.

The description of circuit engineering implementation of an input/output processor for MP-3 multiprocessor is given. The input/output subsystem combining with a multiprocessor is described. The design block diagram is considered and technical specification of principal nodes are presented. The choice of the element base is substantiated and brief description of elements in use is given. Test results are included.

MAGNETIC THERMAL INSULATION IN HIF TARGETS

M. D. Churazov, E. A. Zabrodina, N. A. Krasnoborov
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 1. P. 25-30.

The efficiency of the magnetic thermal insulation is considered for HIF (Heavy Ion Fusion) targets. The brief description of the program system used to perform these estimations is included. The specific power Jm may be lowered to the level Jm ~ 1000 TW/g by magnetic thermal insulation effects during the target compression with the initial magnetic field B0z ~ 105 Gs.

IMPLICIT CONSERVATIVE MONOTONE SCHEMES OF HIGHER ACCURACY FOR NUMERITCALY SOLVING THE TRANSPORT EQUATION

O. S. Sokolov
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 1. P. 31-40.

For solving numerically the transport equation, one of the approaches is propped to construct implicit conservative monotone difference schemes of higher accuracy with non-linear correction of the solution based on DSn-method.
Requirements to the solution are formulated which establish boundaries for output flow variations. It is shown that solution monotonicity and stability follow from these requirement satisfaction.
Approximation of the third and fourth orders of accuracy are constructed. The above requirements allow to correct the solution in the case of their violation with an approximation order lowering to the first order under such correction.
High accuracy and monotonicity of solutions obtained using the proposed schemes are demonstrated by test problem computation results.

ON SOME TECHNIQUES FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM OF AN ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION SYSTEM EIGENVALUES IN MACF-METHOD

V. M. Povyshev, A. A. Sadovoi
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 2. P. 41-44.

Four techniques for solving the problem of eigenvalues of an ordinary differential equation system of the second order occuring during the calculation of multi-electron atom and ion properties using multi-dimensional angular Coulomb function method (MACF-method) are discussed in the paper. The comparison is made between Galerkin technique, the technique of Sturm representation of green function, the technique of Sturm representation with chosen asymptotic behaviours, and the technique with approximated asymptotics accounting which provides basic function orthogonality. Practical convergency of the last technique for a sufficiently large equation system is demonstrated.

ELASTIC-PLASTIC MODEL OF DYNAMIC DEFORMATION OF 238U AND ITS ALLOY WITH Mo

B. L. Glushak, O. N. Ignatova
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 2. P. 45-49.

The semiempirical elastic-plastic model for dynamically deforming 238U and its alloy with Mo is described. The ball component of the stress tensor is given in the form of Mie-Grueneisen equation of state. Stress rate is represented as the function of plastic deformation rate , plastic deformation velocity rate , current temperature T and pressure P. Values of the model parameters are given and computation results are compared to experimental data obtained using Kol’skii-Hopkinson technique. The range of this model application is restricted by the following parameters of the stressed-strained state: ; .

MASTERING AND DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAMS AND TECHNIQUES FOR SOLVING ONE-DIMENSIONAL ENERGY RELEASE PROBLEMS AT VNIIEF (1954-1986)

I. V. Potugina
VANT. Ser. Mat. Mod. Fiz. Proc. 1998. No 2. P. 50-59.

Key words: In the middle 1950’s collaborators of VNIIEF Mathematical Division 08 started to master programs and techniques for solving one-dimensional energy release problems (KPD) developed at Applied Mathematics Division of the USSR Academy of Science’s Mathematical Institute. By the middle 1960 s the Division 08 has already developed its own programs on their base oriented to operational computation development of KPD programs and techniques depended on the development of computer engineering, ever encreasing complexity of physical systems under consideration and the corresponding improvement of a physical and mathematical model.
This paper author was a first-hand participant and a leader of the described scientific and production area within many years.
