BAL PROGRAM FOR SOLVING GAS DYNAMICS PROBLEMS IN THE 1-D COMPLEX

I. A. Adamskaya, V. N. Gorbatenko, Z. A. Yevstigneeva, L. N. Popova., A. I. Sokolova
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 3-14.

The paper describes a BAL modules "bundle", which is an operational program designed to solve gas dynamics problems within the 1-D Complex. The BAL program implements a nonhomogeneous difference method. An emphasis is made on the evaluation of a detonation wave, shock waves, propagating through unperturbed material, along with free and contact boundaries. To calculate the detonation wave and the flow behind it Kuropatenko scheme is used. For region between outlined features, if not explosives, Godunov scheme is applied.
The program capabilities are illustrated by solving five test problems.

PROGRAM TOOLS AVAILABLE ТО USERS FOR CARRYING OUT PARALLEL CALCULATIONS ON THE BESM-6 COMPUTER SYSTEM

A. A. Oparin, Yu. G. Bartenev, E. S. Krivov
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 15-22.

Capabilities, provided to users by parallelization extra-code included in the DISPAK OS, are described.
Using this extra-code users may divide iheir task into several subtasks, set a sequence for the subtask execution, and implement data exchange between these subtasks, when solving a problem on a computer system.

CHOOSING A FUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE AND ANALYSIS OF FACILITIES PROVIDING RESOURCES SHARING WITHIN A MULTICOMPUTER COMPLEX

A. D. Shalfeev
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 23-36.

The paper analyzes some aspects of a multicomputer complex creation including processors, input/output devices, external memory, and teleprocessing facilities. The analysis results in a selection of switch facilities functional structure within a multicomputer system with respect to the complexity involved in the installation of additional switching hardware which is estimated using queuing theory and applying it to different versions of a multicomputer system under development.

INTERACTIVE REMOTE JOB INPUT: "ZAPUSK” SYSTEM FOR BESM-6

Yu. V. Gurenkov, V. A. Gusev, А. M. Mikiychuk
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 37-40.

A system called "Zapusk" for interactive remote job input is described. The system runs on the BESM-6 complex, having a shared memory. The system capabilities are considered and its performance characteristics are est imated.

A ROLL-TYPE PLOTTER WITH STEPPING MOTORS, HAVING LOCALLY-CLOSED FEEDBACK

L. Ya. Pavlikov
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 41-45.

A brief description of the plotter and its characteristics are presented.
Locally-closed electric drive, which served as a base for designing the RPG-3 plotter, permits to achieve much greater performance, than that obtained using disclosed drives.

FORMULAE MANIPULATION SYSTEM

V. I. Zimenkov, M. K. Shinkarev
Vant. Ser. Metodiki i Programmy Chislennogo Resheniya Zadach Matematicheskoy Fiziki. 1979. No 3. P. 46-51.

The paper presents an interactive system, allowing to perform some analytic transformations over a broad class of mathematical expressions (differentiation, substitution etc.) along with calculations (evalution of expression values and associated integrals). The system language permits to write several procedures, performing, in a symbol form, such operations as transcendental equation solution, function expansion etc. The system runs on the BESM-6 computer.
